You stay put and wait. Soon the workers flood in to lunch. You wait until they're all seated and listen hard. They aren't saying anything useful however, so you soon lose interest. After a few minutes, you realise that you've absent-mindedly strayed out onto the floor!! You are already about halfway across the floor. You start to run back. You're almost there when someone sees you. Sorry, but no-one likes a cockroach.
